125th Anniversary Party
A temporary lighting installation at historic Low Library Rotunda aimed for a convergence of the festive and the austere. Choosing to stay within the existing energy limits of the room, we worked with Columbia graduate students to develop forms using reflective and refractive materials to amplify a small amount of light. Suspended 45 feet above the floor, a 7 pound, 12 by 12 foot “kite” of radiant film emitted changing rays of colored light.
