Inspired by 19th century floating baths alongside New York City’s riverside tenement districts, The Floating Pool Lady migrates among neighborhoods lacking swimming facilities. Lighting gives an airy, festive feel to the retrofitted barge without impeding skyline views of the city. Poolside illumination is from low-elevation shielded sources. Uplights are reflected back onto the ground plane by the overhanging roof.
