Toshiko Mori, Architect
Lighting helps incorporate and distinguish Toshiko Mori’s sensitive addition to Marcel Breuer’s classic 1951 modern house. The lighting design included interiors for the renovated original Breuer house, Mori’s freestanding addition and connecting stair enclosed in glass of varying transparency, a renovated pool house, and landscape lighting. Themes of glass, transparency and contrasting materiality are also expressed through the lighting. Architectural Record article
