Tommy Zung, Architect
Values of simplicity, sustainability and contemplation inform the lighting design of this private home. Decorative and conventional fixtures are eschewed in favor of a more intangible effect. Handsomely textured surfaces act as luminous sources, reflecting light from compact fluorescents tucked inside small architectural recesses. By amplifying and creating a rich quality of light through reflective materials, the design comfortably uses not only less energy, but less light, and helps meet the client’s goal of LEED Gold.
